Guilin University of Aerospace Technology (桂林航天工业学院) was founded in 1979 and is located in the National AAAA Scenic Tourism Area-Yaoshan Scenic Area, Guilin City. In April 1999, the school reorganization system was transferred to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a management system of “co-construction between the central and local governments, focusing on local management” was implemented. The school was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in March 2012, and was added as a bachelor’s degree authorized unit in December 2015. It is now a member of the China Aerospace Association and the chairman of the Guangxi Aerospace Society.

The existing management school, aeronautical tourism school, mechanical engineering school, electronic information and automation school, automobile and transportation engineering school, energy and building environment school, computer science And 16 teaching units including the School of Engineering, the School of Foreign Languages and Foreign Trade, the School of Media and Art Design, the School of Marxism, the School of Science, the Ministry of Physical Education, the Department of Practical Teaching, the School of Humanities Quality and Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the School of International Education, and the School of Continuing Education.

Guilin University of Aerospace Technology currently has 31 undergraduate majors and 12 higher vocational majors. It is one of the institutions with the highest proportion of engineering majors in Guangxi universities and the only institution in Guangxi that has aerospace undergraduate majors. In recent years, the school has been approved with 2 autonomous region-level key cultivation disciplines, 4 Guangxi undergraduate college specialty majors, and 7 Guangxi advantageous specialty specialty construction sites.
