The history of Lishui University (丽水学院) can be traced back to the Shizhou Normal School founded in 1907. In December 1978, Lishui Teachers College was established with the approval of the State Council. In May 2004, the Ministry of Education approved the upgrade to the name Lishui College.

There are 8 colleges in Lishui University, including the Nationalities College, the Teacher Education College, the Ecology College, the College of Engineering, the School of Medicine and Health, the School of Business, the China Celadon Institute, and the Vocational and Technical College. The university has 47 undergraduate programs, with 13,479 full-time students, including 10,691 undergraduate students. There are 1117 faculty members, including 97 professors and 200 doctors.

Lishui University actively carries out foreign exchanges and cooperation. The university has established cooperation with Jacksonville State University, Hunan University of South Korea, Salamanca Bishop University of Spain, Tsinghua University of Taiwan, Zhongshan Medical University of Taiwan, and Mingzhi University of Korea. Communication relationship. In 2014, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it cooperated with the University of Govle, Sweden to organize undergraduate nursing courses, and became one of the universities approved to carry out Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools. In April 2015, the school launched international student education, with 154 international students from 29 countries including Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania.
